Description

From our sister label AFRO7 comes this previously unreleased session, recorded at Lansdown Studio in London in 1997. It features four fantastic tracks in the Kinshasa Lingala style—guitar-driven dance music played to perfection. The band was very active touring in the 1990s England and included musicians from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Malaysia, and the UK. All four songs on this release are original compositions by the band, either composed or arranged by the legendary Maitre Fiston Lusambo (who still produces music today). This marks the first release in a series of Baboma recordings from various UK studios.

This record is a lathe cut, limited to just 50 copies. Twenty copies were sold at Record Store Day 2026 at Vinyl Guru in Kenyatta Market, Nairobi. The record sleeves are repurposed from older sleeves, flipped and reprinted. Each copy is individually numbered.
